The MCFF Spring Fundraiser for 2013 will be held at the Zelma Basha Salmeri Art Gallery on Friday, April 12. The Basha Gallery is an exclusive collection of Western and Native American Art and represents one of the largest private collections of such art in the world.
Janice Reilly, Chair fo the MCFF Board, said, “We wanted to do something a little different this year as our fundraiser.” The evening promises not to disappoint with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 6pm and the program beginning at 7.
The MCFF raises money for Maricopa Community College students in need. While the foundation awards academic scholarships each semester, the largest share of support is provided in the form of emergency grants for students in dire situations. “The goal is to help students in an emergency who might otherwise have to drop out of college,” said Reilly. Most emergency grants total less than $300. “It’s amazing how such a small amount of money can keep a student from dropping out of school,” Reilly commented.
Tickets for the Spring 2013 Fundraiser are $50 each and all proceeds go to the MCFF general fund for emergency grants and academic scholarships.
